Apoorva Kumar

I am a family lawyer at The Sage Law Group, where I help individuals and families navigate some of the most difficult and emotional periods of their lives. Whether someone is dealing with a separation, a parenting dispute, support issues, or the uncertainty that often comes with a family law matter, my goal is to provide clear advice, practical solutions, and strong advocacy every step of the way.

I was called to the Ontario Bar in 2024 and practice exclusively in family law. I regularly represent clients throughout Ontario in matters involving parenting time and decision-making responsibility, child and spousal support, property issues, divorce, domestic contracts, and family law appeals. My work includes everything from negotiating settlements and drafting agreements to appearing in court for motions, conferences, and trials.

What drew me to family law was the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Family law is about much more than legal rights and obligations. It is about helping people move forward during some of the most challenging moments they will ever experience. I understand that clients often come to my office feeling overwhelmed, worried about their children, their finances, or their future. I take pride in being someone they can trust to guide them through the process with honesty, patience, and compassion.

Before practising in Ontario, I gained legal experience in both Canada and India. Having worked with people from different backgrounds and cultures, I understand that every family is unique. There is no one-size-fits-all solution in family law, which is why I take the time to understand each client’s circumstances and tailor my advice to their specific needs and goals.

I believe that effective advocacy starts with listening. I work closely with my clients to ensure they understand their options and feel empowered to make informed decisions about their future. While I am always prepared to advocate strongly in court when necessary, I also recognize the value of negotiated resolutions and helping clients avoid unnecessary conflict whenever possible.

Since joining Sage Law, I have represented clients in courts across Ontario and have worked on a wide range of matters, including complex parenting disputes, relocation cases, support claims, disclosure issues, and property-related matters. I enjoy the challenge of helping clients find practical solutions to difficult problems and achieving outcomes that allow them to move forward with confidence.

Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, spending time with family and friends, and exploring new communities across Ontario. As someone who has built a career across different countries and cultures, I value connection, understanding, and the importance of making people feel heard, both inside and outside the courtroom.
