Legal Aid Clients
If you have chosen this page, it means you are a client who has been approved for a legal aid certificate.
Kindly complete the linked intake form
https://forms.gle/FeVwfpvVtUnuSr3YA
- This form will be received directly by our administrative staff.
- We will review the form to get an understanding of your situation and circumstances.
- If your form is not filled out in full or is not clear in terms of the information, we will not be able to assist you.
- If you do not complete the part of the form which requests you to describe your situation in details (at the very end), we will not be able to assist you.
- Hence, it is in your best interest to take your time and complete the form in the best way possible.
Following the review of the intake form we will make a decision as to whether we will accept your file or not. You will be notified by either email or text of our decision.
Important note:
We are a private business and therefore we are completely at liberty to decide which cases we wish to take on or not. Although we strive to help, keep in mind that we are not obligated to take a case.
We may choose to refuse a case for many reasons such as conflict of interest (meaning we’ve had meaningful contact with your opposing party in the past), our lawyers not having experience with your type of issue, lawyers being at capacity or not having lawyers available in your court location.
- Once we’ve advised you that we will accept your file, you will be contacted by email within 72 hours (not including weekends or holidays) by our administrative staff to start your file opening procedures.
- It is very important that you stay patient throughout this process as we are helping many people.
- Your file opening email might go to junk and therefore you should be checking your junk email within the 72 hour period.
- A lawyer from the firm will be assigned to your case.
- At any point prior to signing on to your certificate (also referred to as acknowledging the certificate) the lawyer or the firm may choose not to proceed with your file. Typical situations for such an occurrence are when a client is discovered to be abusive or rude with our lawyer/staff, or when their situation appears to be substantially different to that which was portrayed in the intake form.
We look forward to assisting you!
